Job Description: Support Engineer

Overview: As an End User Computing Level 2 Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's IT systems, specifically focusing on desktop support and user-facing technologies. You will be responsible for responding to user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing timely resolutions to ensure minimal disruption to our users' productivity.

Responsibilities:

  1. Desktop Support:

  2. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.

  3. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

  4. Set up and configure new desktops, laptops, and mobile devices for end users.

  5. Technical Troubleshooting:

  6. Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.

  7. Escalate problems to higher-level support teams as needed, ensuring prompt resolution.

  8. User Training and Documentation:

  9. Assist users in understanding the use of hardware and software applications.

  10. Create and maintain documentation related to troubleshooting procedures and end-user guides.

  11. System Monitoring and Maintenance:

  12. Monitor the performance of desktop infrastructure and systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.

  13. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as applying updates and patches to systems.

  14. Customer Service:

  15. Provide excellent customer service and support to internal users, ensuring their technical issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

  16. Communicate technical information to non-technical users in a clear and understandable manner.

  17. Compliance and Security:

  18. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures regarding system access and data security.

  19. Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard information against unauthorized access.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Help Desk Technician or Desktop Support Engineer, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with desktop and laptop hardware components and peripherals.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Customer-oriented and able to work under pressure.
