Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payment Operations Specialist to support accurate and efficient processing of international and domestic payments. In this role, you will be responsible for executing daily transactions, resolving payment inquiries, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards across multiple payment networks.

You will collaborate closely with banking partners, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain smooth operations and help scale our global payments program as we expand into new markets and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily processing of international and domestic payments across SWIFT, Fedwire, ACH, SEPA, FPS, and other global payment rails.
  • Perform verification, compliance checks (e.g., OFAC, Travel Rule), and review supporting documentation for payments.
  • Support investigation and resolution of payment issues including returns, repairs, recalls, and regulatory queries.
  • Monitor transaction queues to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Coordinate and track FX wire processing and settlement.
  • Liaise with external banking partners and internal teams to address operational inquiries.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date operational procedures and ensure adherence to regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Provide operational support during new product launches and enhancements to payments infrastructure.
  • Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed to reduce operational risk.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in payment operations, international payments, treasury, or banking.
  • Strong NACHA and ACH knowledge, including returns, disputes, risk controls, and regulatory rules.
  • AAP (Accredited ACH Professional) certification strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and global payment standards (ISO 15022 / ISO 20022 preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with wire operations and compliance checks (e.g., OFAC, Travel Rule).
  • Experience within fintech, digital banking, or BaaS environments is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills to support internal stakeholders and external banking partners.
  • High degree of ownership and accountability with a proactive mindset.
