About the Job
As an Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire estimation and job approval process, from handling incoming leads to scheduling jobs and coordinating with technicians.
This role is crucial in ensuring that technicians' schedules are consistently filled with approved work, optimizing resource allocation, and improving operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and motivated to achieve a high rate of job closures, typically within the 50-70% range.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage promptly and professionally with incoming leads from various sources, understand customer needs, and create accurate and competitive estimates.
- Develop and present detailed job estimates, ensuring they meet company standards and customer expectations, and collaborate with customers to review and secure approval for estimates.
- Manage technicians' schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and minimal downtime, monitor job progress, and make real-time adjustments to schedules to meet customer timelines.
- Maintain a consistent job closure rate of 50-70%, track and report on conversion rates, customer feedback, and scheduling efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the estimation and approval process, address customer inquiries, and resolve concerns promptly to build trust and satisfaction.
- Work closely with technicians and other team members to ensure seamless execution of approved jobs, provide insights and feedback to improve overall processes and performance.
Requirements Profile
- Language: Fluency in American English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience: Prior experience in sales, estimating, or construction/project management preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding performance targets.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation tools and software, ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
- Personal Traits: Strong organizational and time-management skills, results-driven, and motivated by achieving goals.
