Park Place Technologies seeks a seasoned Payroll Director, LATAM Operations to lead our payroll team in Latin America. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to oversee the coordination and facilitation of daily payroll activities for our global organization.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective interdepartmental communication, facilitating payroll processes, and maintaining compliance with federal, local, and state regulations.

  • Drive continued process improvement and project ownership of system enhancements and vendor relationships.
  • Assist team members with questions, concerns, and complaints from employees, external departments, and payroll vendors.
  • LATAM payroll processing including but not limited to: ability to process all LATAM payroll or backup primary payroll processor. Manage the Payroll Specialist in Brazil, who is responsible for processing the payroll in-house using TOTVS software.
  • Reporting – ability to prepare, analyze, and report on all payroll processes. Understands and is able to successfully pull reports from payroll systems as needed to satisfy all payroll objectives and audits.
  • Payroll Accounting – prepare, communicate, and assist with all payroll journal entries and payroll account reconciliation for month-end to close.
  • Audits – coordinate, assist, and ensure all payroll audits are completed timely, accurately, and all outside vendors have the necessary information for completion of audits.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will also assist with training new team members, maintain and update established departmental policies and procedures, handle difficult employee payroll issues, provide administrative support, and assist with merger and acquisition related responsibilities.

Requirements:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with 5-10 years of payroll and general office experience, strong knowledge of multi-country pay in LATAM and employment laws, and proficiency in MS Office with intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.

Bonus points will be given to candidates with knowledge of payroll system TOTVS and advanced Spanish skills.

Education and Travel:

An Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school, or 5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Additionally, occasional travel of up to 5% may be required.
