IFIByNE is affiliated with the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET).
The institute conducts basic and applied research in Neurosciences, Physiology and Molecular Biology, with the goal of advancing our understanding of living systems and contributing to scientific and technological progress that benefits society.

Role Description

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Aguilar and Colman-Lerner groups at IFIByNE (Buenos Aires, Argentina). The project focuses on the development and characterization of yeast strains for industrial biotechnology applications
.

The successful candidate will
:

· Design and execute advanced experimental studies in yeast strain engineering and molecular genetics.

· Analyze and interpret quantitative data, in collaboration with group members and external partners.

· Prepare manuscripts, reports and presentations to communicate research findings.

· Contribute to the mentoring and training of students and junior researchers in the laboratory.

This is an initial one-year appointment, with a strong expectation of renewal depending on funding and performance. The start date is as soon as possible (flexible).

Qualifications

· Strong research background and hands-on experience in molecular biology and molecular genetics.

· Proven laboratory skills with experience in standard experimental techniques (e.g. cloning, PCR, strain construction, microscopy, etc.).

· Previous experience working with yeast (e.g.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae
) is highly desirable, but not strictly required for outstanding candidates with a strong molecular biology profile and willingness to learn.

· Demonstrated skills in quantitative data analysis; experience with programming (e.g. R, Python, MATLAB) is an advantage but not required.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, international research environment.

· Doctoral degree (PhD) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or a related field, completed or close to completion at the time of appointment.

· Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Spanish is a plus but not required.
