Manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits.

Planning and leading the accounting statement reporting and subsequent assistance process for the local control agency (SSN standards and regulations) and Head Office (US GAAP).

Report to and work closely with the CFO and the regional Controller in analysing financial reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting policies, procedures and controls.

Perform the initial technical accounting research, draft and/or review accounting memos consistent with Local and US GAAP and Assurant’s accounting policies for significant accounting issues related to the country.

Partner with the Region controller to resolve accounting, reporting and audit issues and finalize deal reviews, GAAP standard related changes or new pronouncement applicable to the legal environment locally.

Ensure all intercompany transactions are understood, accounted, and reported as per Assurant process. All Intercompany are reconciled timely and as per the policy of the company.

Provide support for global accounting initiatives and special projects.

Manage accounting teams and provide development and coaching for direct reports. Employ strategies to attract and retain talent in the teams.

Evaluate accounting teams and organizational structure, assess gaps and other developmental opportunities on team's both current and future needs.

Build foundation of leadership and trust with Accounting, Finance, and business leaders in the region.

Identify and raise accounting and financial reporting issues to Regional Controller and key stakeholders on a timely basis. Ensure key stakeholders remain appraised of developments on issues and deals relating to the business.

Work closely with the business to provide timely support and quality inputs on FP&A deliverables.
