Daily Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of steam turbines, generators, and associated systems in various field locations. The position entails significant travel, exceeding 60%, to international power generation sites. Your daily tasks will include leading subcontractors in executing essential maintenance activities while ensuring adherence to quality standards and technical protocols. You will facilitate site meetings with clients and subcontractors to effectively coordinate these operations. Additionally, you will manage the timing of material deliveries to the site as required and provide regular updates and insights to the engineering and management teams. A mechanical background is essential, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics pertinent to equipment maintenance. Opportunities to specialize in various turbine frames may arise over time.

Key Contributions

  • Lead teams of field service engineers, technicians, and skilled labor in maintenance operations.
  • Oversee and manage project team staffing at client locations.
  • Offer expertise in steam turbine technology to management, clients, and suppliers.
  • Assess and fulfill customer contract obligations.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on equipment conditions, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Analyze complex task plans, schedules, and installation schematics while providing ongoing mentorship throughout the project.
  • Ensure compliance with all protocols, policies, and guidelines of the integral management system (EHS, Quality). This is mandatory for all positions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a power plant or similar environment.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, capable of achieving objectives independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks effectively under tight deadlines while adapting to changing circumstances. Previous experience with Siemens Energy’s clientele, equipment, and processes is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in technical writing.
  • Competent in computer applications (Microsoft Office and willingness to learn additional software as necessary).
  • Flexibility and readiness for extensive domestic and international travel (up to 80%).
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Mexico without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization.
