Daily Responsibilities
This role involves providing maintenance services for steam turbines, generators, and associated systems in various field locations. The position requires significant travel, exceeding 60%, to international power generation sites. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supervising subcontractors to ensure quality and adherence to technical standards.
- Participating in site meetings with clients and subcontractors to facilitate project coordination.
- Managing the logistics of materials arriving on-site as needed.
- Regularly updating the back-office engineering and management teams on project status and insights gained.
- Utilizing mechanical expertise to interpret technical drawings and schematics essential for equipment maintenance.
Impactful Contributions
- Directing teams of field service engineers and technicians in operational tasks.
- Overseeing the staffing of project teams at client locations.
- Sharing steam turbine knowledge with management and stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with customer contract specifications.
- Compiling and submitting detailed reports on equipment conditions and repair recommendations.
- Reviewing complex project plans and providing ongoing mentorship throughout the execution phase.
- Upholding the protocols and standards of the current management system, including EHS and Quality guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a power plant or similar environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in technical writing and computer applications (Microsoft Office and others as required).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 80% of the time.
- Must possess legal authorization for employment in Mexico without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization.
