International Field Service Engineer - Steam Turbines

Daily Responsibilities

This role involves providing maintenance services for steam turbines, generators, and associated systems in various locations. The position necessitates extensive travel, exceeding 60%, to international power generation facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and overseeing subcontractors to ensure all tasks are performed effectively and in accordance with quality and technical standards.
  • Participating in site meetings with clients and subcontractors to facilitate task coordination.
  • Managing the logistics of materials required on-site.
  • Regularly updating the engineering and management teams on project status and insights gained.
  • Utilizing a mechanical background to interpret technical drawings and schematics essential for equipment maintenance.

Impactful Contributions

  • Directing teams of field service engineers and technicians at project sites.
  • Coordinating staffing for project teams at customer locations.
  • Sharing steam turbine expertise with management and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer contract specifications.
  • Compiling and delivering detailed reports on equipment conditions, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Reviewing complex project plans and providing mentorship throughout project execution.
  • Upholding the protocols and standards of the current management system (EHS, Quality).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a power plant or similar environment.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, capable of achieving objectives independently while collaborating effectively with teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks under tight deadlines while adapting to changing requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in technical writing.
  • Competent in computer applications (Microsoft Office and other relevant software).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Mexico without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization.
