ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cash Collections unit is integral to the Global Finance Shared Services and Global Finance Infrastructure, tasked with managing all accounts receivable. Our primary goal is to streamline the collections process (DSO - Days Sales Outstanding) and enhance SAP's cash flow. To achieve this, the Cash Collections Team employs various tools and standardized methodologies.

This team maintains close interactions with customers (both internal and external), including END-Customers & Partners Ecosystem, Sales, Office of CFO, Marketing, Accounts Payable, Record2Report, Accounting, Controlling, and other essential stakeholders within the organization.

The Cash Collections Operations Specialist is responsible for executing operational tasks that support broader financial operations, including specialized activities necessary for compliance with legal obligations and SAP's internal policies. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of standard processes and transactions, as well as specific expertise in designated areas.

KEY TASKS

The Cash Collections Operations Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing follow-ups and collections for all accounts receivable (AR) related to outstanding and overdue invoices.
  • Conducting proactive inbound and outbound communications with END-Customers & Partners Ecosystem to ensure timely collections of AR.
  • Performing investigations, analyses, and problem-solving for discrepancies in open invoices.
  • Overseeing fixed collections for assigned customer portfolios.
  • Sending account statements to END-Customers & Partners Ecosystem and addressing inquiries regarding open invoices.
  • Adhering to established processes and utilizing cash collections tools effectively.
  • Preparing, executing, and monitoring period-end closing activities.
  • Ensuring accuracy in financial records through diligent execution of operational tasks.
  • Monitoring and reporting on relevant end-to-end finance processes.
  • Preparing for period closing duties (monthly and quarterly).
  • Engaging in advanced monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Performing other relevant tasks as required.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a finance-related role.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a Shared Service Centre.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
