We are hiring a Senior Account Manager / Account Director to strengthen our senior client leadership layer. This role exists to provide calm, structure, and decisive ownership across complex accounts, and to act as a trusted escalation point when issues exceed day‑to‑day account management. This is a senior, judgment‑heavy role. The right person has already handled demanding clients, managed internal complexity, and taken responsibility for fixing problems—not just reporting on them. Depending on experience and demonstrated capability, this role may operate closer to a Senior Account Manager or a full Account Director level. What You’ll Own Senior Client Leadership & Escalation Act as a primary escalation point for complex or sensitive client issues. Lead difficult conversations with confidence and emotional intelligence. Reset expectations, de‑escalate tension, and reestablish trust when needed. Proactively identify accounts at risk and intervene before problems escalate. Account Oversight & Organization Oversee a portfolio of accounts with a focus on organization, follow‑through, and accountability. Ensure client requests, deliverables, and internal actions are clearly tracked and prioritized. Coordinate across Paid Media, SEO, Tracking, and Operations teams to resolve blockers. Bring structure to ambiguity and order to fast‑moving situations. Strategic Communication (Not Channel Execution) Understand campaign performance well enough to speak credibly and clearly with clients. Translate technical or operational issues into plain, confident client‑facing explanations. Help clients understand why something is happening and what the plan is to fix it. Identify opportunities to expand or deepen relationships when appropriate. Internal Leadership & Judgment Know when to escalate—and when not to. Make sound judgment calls without waiting for constant approval. Support and guide junior AMs through complex situations. Surface recurring issues and help improve internal processes over time. Leveling & Scope Expectations We are open to hiring at different points within this senior range, based on experience and demonstrated ownership: Senior Account Manager–Level Candidates Independently manage complex accounts with minimal oversight. Confidently handle escalations but may involve leadership for higher‑risk situations. Strong organizers and communicators who bring consistency and reliability. Account Director–Level Candidates Operate as a true stabilizing force across high‑value or high‑risk accounts. Own escalations end‑to‑end with little to no leadership involvement. Trusted to make judgment calls that protect retention and long‑term relationships. Naturally operate as a mentor and senior presence within the AM team. Compensation within the range reflects where a candidate operates across this spectrum. What We’re Looking For Required Experience 5–8+ years in a senior Account Manager or Account Director role at a digital marketing agency. Direct experience managing U.S.-based clients. Proven ownership of escalations, renewals, and retention. Comfort working across Paid Media, SEO, and performance marketing environments. Experience coordinating multiple internal teams simultaneously. Communication & Presence Near‑perfect spoken and written English (non‑negotiable). Confident, composed presence on Zoom and client calls. Able to push back diplomatically and set boundaries when needed. Trusted quickly by senior decision‑makers. Personal Traits Highly organized; systems‑oriented, not reactive. Calm under pressure; emotionally mature. Naturally proactive—sees issues before they explode.
