Solutions Architect w/AI Augmented Software Engineer - Sr Job Description The Solutions Architect & AI-Augmented Software Engineer is a pivotal role that bridges strategic architecture with hands‑on software development. This individual not only designs and validates scalable, secure, and high‑performance solutions, but also actively contributes as a developer when required.In our software factory environment, adaptability is key: projects may demand deep architectural guidance, direct software implementation, or both. In addition, this role requires advanced experience working with AI‑assisted workflows, leveraging AI as a partner in code generation, testing, documentation, and refactoring, using structured techniques rather than ad hoc prompting.The ideal candidate combines strong technical breadth, critical architectural thinking, and coding craftsmanship, with the mindset of an AI‑Augmented Engineer who knows how to harness AI safely, efficiently, and methodically. Responsibilities Strategic Solution Design: Translate business requirements into architectural blueprints, balancing scalability, security, and maintainability. Hands‑On Development: Contribute code in backend and frontend when needed, ensuring end‑to‑end delivery. Architectural Leadership: Define and document system architectures aligned with enterprise standards and best practices. AI‑Augmented Workflows: Design and enforce human‑in‑the‑loop processes for AI‑assisted development. Guide AI agents to produce robust code, tests, and documentation. Critically evaluate AI outputs and ensure adherence to defined constraints. Technology & Standards Guidance: Recommend optimal stacks, coding standards, and architectural patterns. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to align technical and business goals. Cloud & DevOps Strategy: Architect and deploy cloud‑native solutions (AWS/Azure), applying CI/CD, IaC, and DevOps best practices. Data Architecture: Design and optimize data flows and models, considering governance, security, and performance. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Coach developers on architecture, coding practices, and AI‑augmented engineering. End‑to‑End Oversight: Ensure systems, APIs, and services integrate reliably and securely. Documentation & Communication: Produce clear architectural docs, workflows, and guidelines, including AI usage playbooks. Requirements Hybrid Skills: Proven experience as both architect and active software developer. Programming Expertise: Strong in backend development (Node.js, Express/Nest.js) and solid knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Next.js). System Integration: Experience designing APIs and integrating complex systems (REST, event‑driven). Databases: Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, with optimization skills. Cloud & DevOps: Hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Azure, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and cloud security practices. Architectural Patterns: Strong grasp of design principles for distributed systems, modular architectures, and event‑driven approaches. AI‑Augmented Engineering: Demonstrated experience using AI in development workflows (code generation, refactoring, test automation, documentation). Understanding of techniques such as task decomposition, validation loops, context management, and test‑driven AI workflows. Familiarity with tools like Cursor, Claude, or GPT‑based assistants. Problem‑Solving & Adaptability: Critical thinker, proactive, comfortable switching between high‑level architecture and detailed coding.
