About the Role

We are looking for a business-minded 
Accounting & Finance Analyst
 to take ownership of day-to-day accounting for a fast-growing 
e-commerce brand
, while also providing clear financial insight to support decision-making. This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping.

The ideal candidate has 
hands-on experience in e-commerce environments
 and understands how online businesses operate across revenue, payments, refunds, inventory, and platform fees. You are someone who can spot mistakes, inefficiencies, or red flags, and proactively bring observations and recommendations to the founder.

You will work closely with the founder as a trusted partner, ensuring financial accuracy while translating financial data into actionable insights that support growth.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Own accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, incoming funds, and reconciliations.
• Review and validate vendor invoices, commissions, shipping fees, and service charges to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Reconcile credit cards, bank accounts, and payment platforms on a regular basis.
• Maintain clean, accurate, and well-organized financial records in QuickBooks.
• Support month-end and ongoing financial organization to ensure reliable data for reporting and taxes.

Cash Flow & Forecasting

• Build and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast
• Track expected inflows and outflows related to sales, inventory purchases, operating expenses, and credit card usage.
• Proactively flag upcoming cash needs, risks, or timing issues.

Financial Analysis & Business Insight

• Analyze profitability by channel, customer type, or sales initiative.
• Identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities to improve margins, pricing, or spend.
• Provide regular summaries (written or live documents) highlighting:

- Current cash position

- Key financial signals

- Risks, anomalies, or opportunities

• Partner with the founder to support decisions related to growth, inventory planning, and scaling strategy.

Process Improvement & Ownership

• Take ownership of financial processes and suggest improvements, tools, or automations where appropriate.
• Help design simple, effective workflows for payments, reporting, and financial visibility.
• Operate independently with minimal oversight, managing priorities and deadlines proactively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a hybrid accounting/analysis role (ideally in small or growing businesses).
• Strong hands-on experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, cash tracking, and financial controls.
• Proven ability to analyze data and turn numbers into insights, not just reports.
• Experience using QuickBooks
• Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets) for forecasting and analysis.
• Experience working with businesses that sell physical products online is strongly preferred (E-commerce)
• High attention to detail with the confidence to question numbers and flag issues.
• Strong English communication skills (C1–C2) to clearly explain findings and recommendations.
• Self-directed, independent, and comfortable taking ownership in a remote, founder-led environment.
