About Wakapi

We are a forward-thinking organization seeking a skilled Manual QA Tester to join our Agile Scrum team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high-quality delivery of dashboards, data-driven applications, and system integrations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QMetry Test Management for Jira and Jira issue tracking. Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, testing types, and defect lifecycle is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements to design robust test plans.
  2. Create, manage, and organize test cases and test suites using QMetry within Jira.
  3. Collaborate with Product Owners and BAs to identify edge cases, clarify requirements, and ensure testability.
  4. Define manual test strategies aligned with sprint goals and priorities.

Test Execution & Verification:

  1. Execute manual functional, regression, integration, and exploratory tests.
  2. Evaluate all testing activities against the Definition of Done (DoD) and project standards.
  3. Validate data integrity, UI/UX functionality, and API integrations—especially for dashboards and reporting modules.
  4. Capture clear, reproducible steps for any defects found.

Defect Management:

  1. Log and track defects in Jira with detailed documentation and screenshots where necessary.
  2. Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues, assist in debugging, and ensure timely resolution.
  3. Verify fixes and regression test to confirm that resolved issues do not impact other areas of the application.

Scrum Team Collaboration:

  1. Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
  2. Estimate QA efforts during sprint planning and refine stories for test coverage.
  3. Communicate blockers, risks, and progress to the Scrum team in real time.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Advocacy:

  1. Identify process improvements and areas for future automation to enhance testing efficiency.
  2. Promote a quality-first mindset across the team.
  3. Ensure performance, usability, and non-functional requirements are considered during testing.
  4. Provide insights and suggestions during retrospectives for improving QA processes.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing within Agile/Scrum environments.
  2. Hands-on experience with QMetry Test Management for Jira and Jira issue tracking.
  3. Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, testing types, and defect lifecycle.
  4. Experience testing web-based applications, dashboards, APIs, and data integrations.
  5. Ability to understand data-heavy applications and validate data accuracy in reports.
  6. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and clear communication abilities.
