Logistics Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Specialist to join our team at AJC International. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing logistics and customer service tasks, ensuring seamless execution of import/export and ocean freight operations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Manage all inquiries and requests in a timely manner, ensuring prompt resolution and communication.
  • Administer and create files with all necessary booking information, including Purchase Order, Booking, Container Size, Temperature, Sail Date, etc.
  • Organize booking requests with steamship lines through various communication channels.
  • Manage and maintain all inventory onsite, planning, verifying appointments, and providing visibility to customers.
  • Send daily on-hand inventory reports and appointment schedules to customers.
  • Ensure customers are informed of all product discrepancies received (damage, shortage, and overage).
  • Prepare loading plans based on customer instructions and approved weight and/or cubes.
  • Provide solutions and recommendations on loading customer freight.
  • Supply manifests with final loading information to customers.
  • Submit bills of lading to steamship lines according to commodity.
  • Confirm sailings and update the system with accurate information, notifying customers of any changes.
  • Create invoices and send them to customers.
  • Facilitate service failure investigation/complaints and ensure corrective and preventive actions are in place.
  • Manage all claim processes in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail to accomplish tasks thoroughly and accurately.
  • Effective customer service skill set.
  • Ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines easily.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2-5 years of previous logistics, ocean freight, or customer service experience is required.
  • Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently.
