Senior Data Team Lead – Global CDM & Strategy Job Overview Independently manage end-to-end delivery of data management services for single/multi-service projects, ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget to achieve customer satisfaction. Provide comprehensive data management expertise to the Clinical Data Management (CDM) team, delivering high-quality data management products that meet customer needs. Lead the team in project planning, execution, close‑out, financial management, communications, and milestone deliverables. May serve as Data Team Lead (DTL), Program Lead, Customer Site Manager, or a leadership role in a specific CDM task (e.g., Subject Matter Expert). Comply with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), applicable regulatory guidelines, SOPs, policies, and CDM guidance documents. Essential Functions Client Management Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on data management deliverables. Manage multiple large studies or programs of studies (possibly global). Provide leadership and senior support to DTLs on multiple large global studies. Lead direct negotiations with customers on timelines, financials, processes, and resources. Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure open communication with customers and IQVIA management to meet contractual obligations. Service Management Meet regularly with the Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) and/or Data Operations team members to ensure milestones meet timelines and quality deliverables. Provide training and development to junior team members. Establish strong communications with the Data Operations team, functional leads, project managers, and other stakeholders. Independently manage DM service delivery with comprehensive DM process and technical expertise. Act as the escalation point for unresolved data issues and coordinate with client data managers, vendors, and internal teams for resolution. Ensure appropriate resources are assigned, review and sign-off on all data management plan (DMP) documents, and implement proactive quality management plans across multiple projects/programs/customers. Manage service performance, identify root causes, and implement remedial actions. Continuously seek opportunities to improve service and lead change initiatives. Financial Management/Business Development Support Manage SOW/budget, review financial reports monthly, and participate in project reviews. Identify out-of-scope tasks, track change orders, and engage in pricing discussions across customer accounts. Serve as Project Manager for single-service DM projects, including financial tracking, revenue recognition, and invoicing. Support the RFP process by reviewing RFP documents, handling pricing, and attending bid defense. Other Responsibilities Introduce process improvements and solutions to the CDM team/department. Lead a focus team or global/local best-practice team, communicate lessons learned, and present in CDM workshops. Manage the development and implementation of new technology or tools. Present at professional conferences, publish articles, and provide expert review in developing, revising, and maintaining core operating procedures and work instructions. Perform other duties as directed by the functional manager. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Health, Clinical, Biological, or Mathematical Sciences, or related field, with 7 years of direct Data Management experience, including 5 or more years as a CDM Project Lead. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable. Proven competence in delivering multiple global trials through the full DM life cycle (large trials of at least 1000 patients), with advanced knowledge of data management processes (therapeutic area, SAE reconciliation, external data vendor reconciliation, local laboratory data management, and/or new technology). Experience in complex customer negotiations and bid defense meetings independently. Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, and/or Physiology. Knowledge of operating procedures and work instructions and the ability to apply them in practice. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and relevant regulatory guidelines. Comprehensive understanding of the clinical drug development process. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and customers.
