Job Overview Independently manage end-to-end delivery of data management services for single/multi-service projects, ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget, to customer satisfaction. Provide comprehensive data management expertise to the Clinical Data Management (CDM) team to deliver high-quality data management products that meet customer needs. Provide leadership and vision to the team in the areas of project planning, execution, and close-out; financial management; communications; and milestone deliverables. May perform the role of Data Team Lead (DTL), Program Lead, Customer Site Manager, and/or a leadership role on a specific CDM task (e.g., Subject Matter Expert (SME)). Comply with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), applicable regulatory guidelines, SOPs, policies, and, where available, CDM guidance documents. Essential Functions This role encompasses multiple domains of data management and client interaction. Client Management Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on data management deliverables. Manage multiple large studies or programs (possibly global). Provide leadership and senior support to DTLs on these studies. Offer project management expertise working with customer data managers, key decision makers, and internal team members to handle continuous process improvements, issue escalation, workload projections, and technical expertise. Lead negotiations with customers on timelines, financial, process, and resources. Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure open communication with customers and IQVIA management to meet contractual obligations. Service Management Meet regularly with the Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) and/or Data Operations team members to ensure milestones meet timelines and quality deliverables. Provide training and development on data management to junior team members. Establish strong communication with Data Operations team, functional leads, project managers, and all other stakeholders. Independently manage DM service delivery with comprehensive DM processes and technical expertise in executing projects. Serve as the escalation point for unresolved data issues and work with client data managers, vendors, and internal team members to resolve them. Ensure appropriate resources are assigned to meet project deliverables. Create, review, and sign off on all data management plan (DMP) documents. Ensure service and quality meet agreed specifications per the DMP and contract/SOW. Implement proactive quality management plans across multiple projects/programs/customer accounts. Identify root causes of issues, implement remedial actions, and continuously seek opportunities to improve service. Develop and lead initiatives to reorganize and drive change (possibly across a customer account). Provide subject matter expertise in specific CDM tasks or technologies, serve as a customer site lead for one or more customers, and mentor junior DTL staff. Maintain internal tracking databases and systems. Financial Management/Business Development Support Independently manage SOW/budget and review financial reports monthly. Participate in project reviews as requested. Identify out-of-scope tasks and track change orders to completion. Conduct pricing discussions across customer accounts. Serve as Project Manager for single-service DM projects, including financial tracking, revenue recognition, and invoicing. Support the RFP process by reviewing RFP documents, pricing, and attending bid defense meetings. Other Introduce process improvements and solutions to the CDM team/department. Lead a focus or best practice team (global or local). Communicate lessons learned and present in CDM workshops. Manage development and implementation of new technology or tools. Present at professional conferences and publish articles in professional journals. Provide review and expert opinion in developing, revising, and maintaining core operating procedures and work instructions. Perform other duties as directed by the functional manager. Qualifications Applicants that do not meet the requirements for the position will not be considered. Bachelor’s degree in health, clinical, biological, or mathematical sciences, or a related field. Seven (7) years of direct Data Management experience, including five (5) or more years as a CDM project lead, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Proven competence in managing the delivery of multiple global trials through the full DM life cycle (e.g., large trials of at least 1,000 patients). Demonstrated expert data management skills and advanced knowledge of the data management process (e.g., therapeutic area expertise, SAE reconciliation, external data vendor reconciliation, local laboratory data management, and/or new technology). Proven competence in handling complex customer negotiations and bid defense meetings independently. Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and/or physiology. Familiarity with operating procedures and work instructions and ability to apply them in practice. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and relevant regulatory guidelines. Comprehensive understanding of the clinical drug development process. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and customers.
