Wholesale Credit Risk assesses, permissions, and manages credit and counterparty risks on an industry, client, geographic, and transaction basis. Credit Risk is independent within Corporate Risk Management, reporting to the firm's Chief Risk Officer (CRO). Our practices are designed to preserve the independence and integrity of decision making. The teams are generally organized by industry, and work closely with coverage and product groups to support business needs. The Analyst will utilize their superior analytical skills, combined with credit and industry knowledge, to make and support credit decisions for a portfolio of clients. They collaborate across credit risk and the business teams to meet client credit requests, while balancing the risk-return needs of the Firm. They constantly monitor their portfolio to accurately assign risk ratings to clients and facilities, while ensuring a robust culture of compliance is adhered to at all times. Responsibilities Conduct credit analysis and helps a deal team seek approval for lending and trading related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team Create written credit approval documents, which include the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and the related financial analysis, as well as projections of future cash flows for large corporate borrowers Develop a well-informed and forward-looking view of the business, financial and competitive risks associated with a company and sector Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures, across industry classes, on an ongoing basis Take ownership of client credit needs and projects and independently develop a credit opinion Provide credit expertise in structuring new loan and derivative transactions Participate in negotiating, finalizing, and executing documentation for loans and derivatives Review and assign risk ratings and maintain updated credit research on their portfolio of clients Work with Investment Banking Coverage, Commercial Banking Coverage and Global Corporate Banking on allocation of capital for clients; maintain threshold and industry limits Participate in credit due diligence process for clients, including for capital markets transactions Qualifications The current open position is a role in Wholesale Credit Risk with expertise in one or more of the industries we support: Consumer, Retail and Healthcare; Technology, Media and Telecommunications; Diversified Industries, Automotive and Transportation, Aerospace and Defense, Airlines, Natural Resources; and Power. Any industry-specific experience is considered valuable, and Consumer, Retail, or Healthcare, in particular for this opportunity. Excellent accounting and corporate finance expertise BA/BAA degree required Academic training in the principals of accounting, corporate finance capital markets products, and macro economics Some credit/underwriting credentials, analytical skills, and experience is a plus Strong analytical and financial modeling ability Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with strong inter-personal skills Ability to work well in a team environment Strong verbal and written communication skills with an interest in client interaction Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Benefits and Culture Home office/ flexible work arrangements and work tools to ensure a great experience.
