We are a U.S.-based fractional CFO firm working with service-based businesses across the United States. Our clients rely on us for clean financials, strong analysis, and clear decision support. We’re hiring a full-time Bookkeeper / Accountant to support our client base. This role is highly tactical and detail-focused, but also requires judgment, curiosity, and strong communication. You will not be doing full-charge bookkeeping. Your work supports the CFO, not replaces one. This is a long‑term role for someone who takes pride in clean books and well‑documented processes. Responsibilities Categorize bank and credit card transactions accurately in QuickBooks Online Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards monthly Record and review payroll entries (wages, taxes, allocations) Ensure proper classification between Cost of Goods Sold and Operating Expenses Maintain consistent, clean chart‑of‑accounts usage across clients Flag anomalies, inconsistencies, or unclear transactions proactively Client‑Specific Processes Learn and adapt to each client’s unique setup and needs Ask clarifying questions when transactions are unclear Create and maintain client‑specific SOPs in Notion Improve documentation over time as processes evolve CFO Support Prepare clean financials for CFO review Assist with month‑end close support Communicate issues clearly and concisely Take ownership of assigned clients and deadlines Required Skills & Experience Strong experience with QuickBooks Online Solid understanding of U.S. bookkeeping and payroll concepts Deep understanding of accrual‑based accounting Excellent transaction categorization and reconciliation skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong written and verbal English communication Comfortable asking questions and explaining reasoning Able to follow structure while thinking independently Analytical mindset, not just data entry Ability and past experience working with multiple client accounts Bonus (Not Required) Light budgeting or forecasting experience Prior exposure to CFO‑style reporting or financial prep Experience supporting multiple clients Education College degree in Accounting or a related field is strongly preferred Tools You’ll Use QuickBooks Online Gusto (or similar payroll platforms) Notion (for SOPs and documentation) Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) Slack or similar communication tools Work Schedule & Technical Requirements Full-time, Monday through Friday Must be available during U.S. business hours up to 3:00 PM Pacific Time / 6:00 PM EST Very stable, high‑speed internet connection is mandatory Fast, reliable connection suitable for cloud accounting systems and video calls Quiet, professional home office environment Strong responsiveness during working hours Growth Opportunities Increased client responsibility Deeper involvement in process improvement Expanded accounting oversight as skills develop #J-18808-Ljbffr
