**Staff Accountant** duties consist of:

- If a client does not have a day to day bookkeeper, assisting the client with bank
- transaction recording and bank reconciliations
- Working with the client’s bookkeeper to answer questions on Quickbooks, how to record transactions, and how to reconcile bank statements
- Reviewing the work of the bookkeeper
- Recording accrual entries - accrued payroll, inventory, prepaids
- Recording tax accruals - federal income tax, state income tax, sales tax
- Preparing monthly reports - PL, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, KPI reports
- Preparing budgets & pro-forma projections
- Preparing estimated taxes on a quarterly basis
- Filing sales tax, local tax, property tax, and excise tax returns
- Assisting clients with notices arriving from tax authorities
- Working with the in-house Tax Team to assist with income tax filing.

Staff Accountant KPIs consist of client retention, % of accounting closes completed by the 15th of the following month, and 360 feedback (i.e. downstream direct reports.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and managing time effectively.

**Has experience with**:

- Accounting & finance in the following industries: manufacturing, distribution,
- wholesaling, retail
- Has a knowledge of using any accounting software - general ledger, AR, AP
- Knowledge of Quickbooks Online or Quickbooks desktop software is a plus but not required
- Comfortable working remotely and interacting with clients via video share (Zoom, Uber conference etc.)
- Knowledge of software such as - Zoom, Slack, Lattice, Trainual, T-Sheets, is a plus but not required
- Exceptional Excel skills - look up, sumif, and pivot tables
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting
- Recording and reviewing intercompany transactions
- Creating and reviewing consolidations
- Managing bookkeepers and staff accounts
- Performing and reviewing month end reconciliations
- Creating and maintaining monthly cash flows
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns
- Exceptional knowledge of English

- The training consists of initial training on the above topics. In addition on a weekly basis, there is a case study on a technical topic.
