Responsibilities Work side by side with our CTO to build the foundations, the present, and the future of our backend and AI systems. Develop and enhance backend systems for existing and new applications in partnership with mobile engineers. Contribute to systems design, infrastructure planning, CI/CD processes, and data workflows. Implement and maintain scalable and reliable backend services using languages such as Kotlin, Java, Go, Python or similar. Design backend tools, databases, and application architecture. Work directly with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Supabase, Cloudflare). Create tools, libraries, or components that improve backend development efficiency. What We’re Looking For Backend Engineering : Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, Go, Python or similar; database design, management, and optimization; a track record of building and maintaining scalable, reliable systems. Experience with AI is a strong plus, especially applying models to real‑world product use cases and optimizing production performance. Systems Architecture : Designing scalable, maintainable architectures; monitoring with New Relic or Datadog. Performance & data focus: Building scalable code; measuring impact on business and users; tracking behavior, usage, and performance for continuous improvement.
