Chief Financial OfficerOur missionTo strengthen theological schools by connecting their leaders to essential resources for mission vitality.Our valuesExcellence - Service - TrustOur visionTo be a center for change and renewal in theological education-A critical partner and leader in theological education-A major innovative and coordinating organization-A collaborator on transformative initiativesClassificationThe vice president for operations / chief financial officer is an exempt position reporting directly to the president.Job Description SummaryThe vice president for operations / chief financial officer provides the leadership, vision, and hands‑on management to ensure smooth operations, and has the primary responsibility for financial oversight and safeguarding the organization's assets.The vice president for operations / chief financial officer serves on the In Trust Center leadership team, supporting and implementing the organization's strategic plan initiatives and objectives, as well as collaborating with staff to engage in organizational projects to fulfill our mission.Oversee, implement, and execute all organizational operations, including systems, processes, purchases, and policies, to ensure operational efficiency.Manage and direct administrative functions including information technology (IT), records management, and general office oversight.Negotiate and manage all vendor and contracted partnerships including IT, legal, insurance, accounting, facilities, and others, ensuring regular review, compliance, and engagement in accordance with policies and schedules.Lead and supervise positions within operations, administration, and finance, including current positions of both the accounting and administrative associate and the database manager.Oversee institutional electronic and paper document records.Monitor and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations, as well as regulatory changes that impact organizational practices or policies.Direct and oversee the collection and analysis of data to support strategic and organizational initiatives, planning, and development.Collaborate with the president to ensure the mission, values, and vision are communicated, measured, and achieved.Provide oversight for daily operations of business matters with ultimate responsibility for financial planning, including budgeting, analysis, projections, and reporting, including ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulatory laws.Oversee and manage partnerships with accounting firm, auditor, investment advisors, and other financial partners.Direct, manage, and execute the annual audit process for year‑end financial statements and IRS Form 990.Assess and maintain organizational internal controls including ensuring that segregation of duties are adequately implemented and maintained.Manage employee compensation, administering payroll, benefits, and retirement transactions as well as reporting, ensuring compliance with employment laws and compensation analysis.Collaborate with the In Trust Center team leaders monthly to ensure support of programmatic areas and initiatives through financial resources and employee allocation management.Support the governing board, including attending and participating in board meetings and serving as liaison to the finance, investment, and audit committees.Manage grant schedules and create detailed financial reports, ensuring complete and accurate budgets.Work with the president to support institutional priorities and evaluate current practices to maximize efficiency.Respect for the diverse religious traditions of our members, affiliates, and constituents.Uncompromising ethical standards in financial stewardship and organizational management.Commitment to excellence and responsiveness in supporting internal and external stakeholders.Deep understanding and commitment to the mission and values of the In Trust Center for Theological Schools.Ability to think strategically with strong, demonstratable organizational, project management, and administrative skills.Excellent oral and written communication with ability to translate financial and operational complexities into clear, accessible language.Ability to perform complex financial analysis, think creatively and strategically, and manage projects across multiple initiatives.Demonstrated flexibility, strong time management, and stress management in both a collaborative, hybrid environment and independent setting.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to cultivate respectful and productive relationships with all colleagues and constituents of the In Trust Center.Exceptional attention to detail.Technical capacity, including learning and proficiency using QuickBooks, a customized database, and Office Suite.Ability to work in an office setting with occasional lifting an #J-18808-Ljbffr
