Lead Developer

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer to join our team and provide hands‑on technical leadership across API, database design, project setup, and full‑stack development. This role requires expertise in PHP (Laravel framework), React.js, and modern development practices. The Lead Developer will collaborate with the architecture team, manage project setups, mentor developers, and ensure the delivery of scalable, high‑quality solutions. Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Project Setup • Lead the technical setup of projects including repository structure, environment configuration, and coding standards.• Design and implement scalable API and database solutions aligning with product requirements.• Ensure adherence to clean code principles, secure coding practices, and performance optimization.• Drive the implementation of unit tests, integration tests, and CI/CD pipelines.• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure maintainability and quality. Mentorship and Team Development • Act as a mentor and technical guide for the development team (PHP, React.js, API developers).• Foster a collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.• Support onboarding of new developers and ensure alignment with team processes and standards. Scrum Process Facilitation • Actively participate in sprint planning (second half), retrospectives, and daily stand‑ups.• Ensure sprint goals are met by helping the team resolve blockers and maintain focus.• Collaborate with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to remove impediments and manage priorities. Technical Debt Management • Proactively identify and document technical debt and work with the Product Owner to prioritize it in the backlog.• Advocate for maintainable solutions while balancing immediate business needs with long‑term system health. Release Management • Plan and work with the release manager to manage deployments, ensuring smooth releases from development to production.• Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to resolve deployment issues.• Maintain release schedules and enforce adherence to version control and release protocols. Architectural Collaboration • Collaborate with the architecture team to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.• Provide input and feedback on architectural designs and long‑term technology strategies.• Ensure developed solutions align with organizational architecture and security standards. Problem Solving & Risk Management • Act as the first point of contact for resolving technical issues within the team.• Proactively identify risks and work with stakeholders to mitigate them.• Facilitate discussions to brainstorm solutions for complex challenges or roadblocks. Qualifications Proven experience as a Lead Developer / Senior Developer leading teams in a Scrum/Agile environment. Strong experience with PHP (Laravel framework) and modern React.js. Expertise in RESTful API design, database schema design (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and project setup from scratch. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Github) and CI/CD best practices. Strong knowledge of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices. Experience in managing releases and working closely with DevOps/infrastructure teams. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and team development. Ability to balance business priorities with technical quality and maintainability. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with microservices architecture. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization technologies. Exposure to modern authentication/SSO solutions and API security best practices. Knowledge of frontend build systems, state management (Redux), and performance optimization. #J-18808-Ljbffr
