Market Surveillance Analyst, Bulgaria We are seeking a Market Surveillance Analyst to join our Compliance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in protecting market fairness, transparency, and integrity by monitoring trading activity, identifying potential misconduct, and ensuring adherence to global regulatory standards. This position requires sharp analytical skills, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of trading behavior in traditional and digital asset markets. Job Responsibilities Real-Time Market Monitoring Continuously monitor trading activity across crypto, derivatives, binary options, and futures platforms to detect suspicious patterns, market manipulation, or abusive trading behavior. Utilize advanced surveillance tools, dashboards, and analytics platforms to identify anomalies and escalate alerts in a timely manner. Trade Analysis & Investigations Conduct post-trade reviews and forensic analysis of flagged transactions or accounts. Investigate potential rule violations by gathering data, interviewing relevant parties, and compiling evidence. Prepare detailed investigative and analytical reports for presentation to the Chief Regulatory Officer and other senior stakeholders. Recommend corrective actions or escalations based on findings. Regulatory Compliance Ensure adherence to relevant market regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FINRA, MiFID II, FCA) and internal compliance policies. Assist in drafting responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and requests for information. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging regulatory developments and enforcement trends across jurisdictions. Policy Development & Enforcement Contribute to the continuous improvement of surveillance frameworks, alerts, and escalation procedures. Support the enforcement of KYC/AML procedures and transaction monitoring standards in line with regulatory expectations. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Technology, and Operations teams to enhance market surveillance systems and data workflows. Coordinate with external regulators, exchanges, and industry bodies to promote best practices in market integrity. Job Requirements Bachelors Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Law, or related field (Juris Doctor or equivalent preferred). 25 years of experience in trade surveillance, compliance, or market oversight, ideally in a financial institution, exchange, or crypto platform. Familiarity with futures, commodities, and derivatives trading concepts. Experience using trade surveillance platforms (e.g., Nasdaq SMARTS, Eventus, Solidus Labs, or similar) is an advantage. Exceptional analytical and investigative skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex findings clearly for senior management and regulators. Self-starter with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure. Demonstrated ability to interact confidently with traders, regulators, and executive leadership. Knowledge of exchange operations, market conduct regulations, and risk management frameworks.
