CookUnity – Accounting Manager CookUnity is the first chef‑to‑you marketplace connecting the country's most talented chefs with eaters (consumers). We are changing meal delivery by bringing small‑batch, restaurant‑quality meals to diners across the country. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in a remote capacity. You will work closely with Market Directors, the Supply Chain Team, Product Team, Engineering and Data Team, contributing to cross‑functional collaborations. Responsibilities Accounting Operations Management – Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations and other financial transactions prepared by the accounting team. Monitor and maintain general ledger accounts, properly recording and classifying inventory, COGS and related accounts. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Netsuite and Inventory Management Software Implementation – Play a key role in implementing Netsuite and Inventory Management software. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Supply Chain, Product, Engineering, and Data) to ensure seamless integration and configuration. Identify and communicate finance‑related requirements for the successful implementation of the software. Assist in designing and implementing inventory valuation methodologies and controls within the system. Inventory Management and Cost Control – Oversee management of large inventories, inventory valuation, costing methodologies, and physical inventory count coordination. Collaborate with the Supply Chain Team and Accounts Payable Team to ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions. Implement and monitor internal controls related to inventory management and cost control to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Financial Reporting and Analysis – Prepare timely and accurate financial reports including weekly and monthly financial statements. Assist in preparing forecasts and other financial projections. Team Leadership and Development – Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Coordinate weekly and monthly close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy of financial statements. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth within the team. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Experience as an Accounting Manager in a retail or mid‑size company with a focus on large inventories. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, inventory valuation, and cost accounting methodologies. Experience in implementing or working with Netsuite and Inventory Management software. Excellent understanding of financial statements, internal controls, and GAAP. Proficient in financial analysis and ability to interpret complex financial data. Strong leadership and team management skills, able to mentor and motivate a team. Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and senior management. Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and remotely. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. Benefits Compensation paid in USD, Crypto, Euro, or ARS.
