Sr. Specialist Accounting

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization: In the dynamic business environment, this position is responsible for in-depth analysis and recording of accounting topics that require experience and knowledge to find solutions and ensure the integrity of the financial records. This includes, but is not limited to, project Accounting participation, Accounting process execution, preparation of internal and external audit requests, review and request financial records, month-end closing, participation in the financial statement preparation in compliance with international and local accounting standards and statutory requirements, and act as an interlink between the Global Business Services (GBS) and various business & finance functions in the local market. Key Responsibilities: - Support the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement closing to ensure accuracy. - Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations and analysis to ensure the Company’s financial records are accurate. - Ensure smooth and timely day-to-day accounting: collaborative work with colleagues in GBS, ensure timely submission of accounting documents and control their processing. - Monitor accounting operations and report on irregularities immediately. - Assist in the preparation of internal and external audit requests. - Provide accounting perspective and assistance on Company projects. - Collaborate with Global Financial Shared Services and local teams on ad hoc accounting projects as required. - Identify, implement, and/or support process improvements in the role’s areas of responsibility, as well as those on the team level. - Adapt and implement harmonized adidas group accounting rules and standards to be in line with legal and tax requirements. - Develop process guides for defined areas to ensure standardized execution of tasks. - Provide accounting expertise and support to other business & finance functions in the local Market. - Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls. Key Relationships: - Global and Market Finance teams - GBS teams - Group Accounting - Other teams in the local market - Internal and external auditors Knowledge Skills and Abilities: - Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to deal with ambiguity in an ever-changing environment while maintaining a positive attitude and working collaboratively within the team. - Must be deadline driven, results-oriented, highly responsible and accountable, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. - Must be extremely proactive, have strong initiative and be self-motivated. High integrity, ethics and strong values; excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation, and a high degree of accuracy are all essential. - Good problem-solving skills; strong decision-making skills; innovative use of IT tools and new technology; and good time management and priority setting skills required. - Must have strong accounting and analytical skills Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - 3+ years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance. - Fluency in written & spoken English. - Proficient computer skills (MS-Office). - SAP experience preferred.
