Role OverviewThe Senior Social Media Strategist will transform long-form, emotionally driven podcast episodes into a high-volume, high-impact short-form content ecosystem across social platforms. This role owns the translation of narrative audio into gripping micro-stories that build emotional trust, retention, and long-term audience obsession.
This is not a traditional social media role. It is a storytelling and narrative leadership position responsible for shaping the emotional architecture, pacing, and resonance of the brand's digital presence. You will act as both creator and strategist, designing how each story unfolds over time and across platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesShort-Form Video Editing & Visual JudgmentEdit and produce approximately 90–100 short-form storytelling clips per month from long-form audio and video content.
Shape emotionally resonant, scroll-stopping clips ranging from 8–60 seconds, grounded in narrative tension, release, and emotional truth.
Apply cinematic pacing principles, including intentional silence, breath, restrained text, zoom, and rhythm.
Make strong editorial decisions on clip openings, ensuring emotional gravity is established within the first 1–2 seconds.
Deliver platform-optimized versions for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels while preserving voice and tone.
Determine when to feature on-camera presence versus voice-led, cinematic B-roll to maximize emotional impact and reach.
Source and select high-quality visuals that enhance emotion without competing with narration.
Identify high-impact moments within each episode, including emotional beats, humor, tension, release, and cliffhangers.
Define episode-level story lanes (e.g., grief, revelation, empowerment, humor, intimacy).
Design and pitch weekly clip strategies that sequence emotional moments intentionally over time.
Maintain a structured Clip Library categorized by theme, emotion, and long-term intellectual property value.
Publish an average of 3+ posts per day across platforms, maintaining a disciplined seven-day cadence.
Write captions aligned with the brand's voice: cinematic, emotionally intelligent, raw, and thoughtful.
Adapt story moments intentionally per platform rather than reposting identical content.
Select hashtags and descriptions that support discovery without diluting narrative integrity.
Engage daily with community comments to reinforce emotional trust and connection.
Ensure all content aligns with defined brand standards, including emotional intensity, cinematic tone, and elevated storytelling.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain visual consistency and long-term grid cohesion.
Protect the emotional intimacy and trust of the storyteller's voice across all platforms.
Monitor platform trends through a story-first lens, adopting only what aligns with the brand.
Experiment with hook structure, pacing, silence versus music, and caption framing.
Track emotional resonance signals such as comments, shares, language patterns, and audience behavior.
Use qualitative insight, not just performance metrics, to refine creative direction.
Demonstrated experience producing short-form content from long-form storytelling formats such as podcasts, documentaries, or narrative video.
Experience working with audio-first or emotionally driven narrative content.
Background in cinematic storytelling, documentary, or story-led digital media is highly valued.
Advanced proficiency in short-form editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Strong instinct for emotional pacing, narrative restraint, and storytelling tension.
Deep understanding of short-form social behavior and attention dynamics.
Ability to translate memoir-style, long-form storytelling into compelling micro-stories without diluting voice.
Highly organized, consistent, and comfortable owning both execution and creative judgment.
A consistent pipeline of emotionally resonant short-form content driving retention, trust, and repeat engagement.
A well-maintained Clip Library that supports long-term storytelling and IP expansion.
Strong narrative cohesion across platforms, with audiences trained to binge, feel, and return.
Clear emotional identity and recognizable pacing style across all social output.
This role offers the chance to shape the emotional foundation of a storytelling brand with long-term cultural and creative ambition. You will have full ownership over short-form storytelling strategy, creative execution, and distribution, contributing directly to the growth of a narrative universe designed to expand beyond social media into larger media formats.
