Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency. 

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN M/F

Description:

The role is responsible for supporting the preparation of work areas and analytical instrumentation. Perform, evaluate, and report chemical analyses and pilot-scale or bench-scale tests to ensure control, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of plant processes and the final product. This role also involves measuring physicochemical parameters in solid and liquid samples, such as temperature, density, electrical conductivity, turbidity, and particle size. Additionally, the position is responsible for preparing and standardizing solutions for instrument calibration and for carrying out manual and automated volumetric determinations.

Responsibilities:

Preparation and dilution of samples for analysis.Sample analysis using portable and bench-top multiparameter measuring instruments for pH determination.Sample analysis using portable and bench-top multiparameter instruments for electrical conductivity determination in liquid samples.Sample analysis using portable and bench-top multiparameter instruments for density determination in liquid samples.Sample analysis using portable and bench-top multiparameter instruments for turbidity determination in liquid samples.Sample analysis using bench-top multiparameter instruments for moisture determination in Li₂CO₃ samples, intermediate by-products, solid process samples, and pilot tests.Sample analysis using sulfate determination techniques by gravimetry and insoluble residue analysis.Sample analysis using % Solids, NTU, and TSS techniques.Sample analysis using a Master Sizer for particle size determination in final Li₂CO₃ product.Sample analysis using a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrophotometer (Turbospec Mobilab).Sample analysis using Metrohm OMNIS autotitrator for chloride concentration determination in fresh brines, process brines, boiler water, and potable water.Sample analysis using Metrohm OMNIS autotitrator for alkalinity concentration determination in fresh brines, process brines, boiler water, and potable water.Sample analysis using Metrohm OMNIS for alkalinity concentration determination in final Li₂CO₃ product.Sample analysis using Metrohm OMNIS autotitrator for chloride concentration determination in final Li₂CO₃ product and intermediate products.Sample analysis using Metrohm OMNIS autotitrator for hydrochloric acid (HCl) concentration determination.Sample analysis using Metrohm OMNIS autotitrator for sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) concentration determination.Sample analysis using Metrohm OMNIS autotitrator for concentration determination of organic extraction solvents and their mixtures within the process.

Profile:

Technical education in chemical sciences, laboratory studies, or related fields.At least 1 year of experience in laboratory environments, preferably within the mining, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.Experience with techniques such as emission/absorption spectroscopy (ICP-OES / ICP-MS, AAS) and particle size analysis by laser diffraction.Knowledge of classical and modern analytical methodologies, including volumetric and gravimetric analysis.Proficiency in software and systems, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is desirable.Knowledge and application of laboratory safety standards.Availability to work under rotating schedules (14x14 roster).Languages: advanced Spanish level (mandatory).
