Plant Operator M/F

Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency. 

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Plant Operator will be responsible for controlling, operating, and maintaining the production system, ensuring the proper functioning of processes and the handling of chemical products (such as Soda Ash, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, solvents, preservatives, etc.). This must be carried out in accordance with operational procedures and current regulations to support the plant's main process. In addition, the operator will collaborate with the maintenance team in preventive and corrective actions, monitoring and recording key productivity indicators (KPIs).

Location: Salar Centenario Ratones – Salta, Argentina

The main role will be to start up, shut down, operate, and identify alarms or abnormal situations related to plant equipment, informing supervision to support decision-making and taking corrective actions jointly to ensure availability and efficiency. Additionally, the operator must:

• Adhere to safety, health, environmental policies, and operational procedures, ensuring the proper handling of hazardous substances (chemicals and fuels).
• Understand the SCADA system, the assigned process, and operate equipment while monitoring critical parameters and taking corrective actions when necessary.
• Work as part of a team and maintain fluent communication with supervisors and other departments, collaborate with maintenance, and participate in safety meetings and emergency response.
• Identify improvement opportunities to optimize operations and meet or exceed performance indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain order and cleanliness in facilities, support the creation of operational procedures, and strive for operational excellence and personnel management.
• Monitor remotely the operation of pumps, agitators, filters, centrifuges, process tanks, and online measurement equipment.

• Secondary or tertiary education, preferably Chemical Technician or Technician in Mining, Mechanics, Electromechanics, Electrical or Electronics.
• At least 2 years of experience in the operation of production plants and/or auxiliary services.
• Availability to work in the Puna region.
• Languages: Advanced Spanish level (mandatory). Intermediate English level (desirable).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of and commitment to safety standards.
• Monitoring of efficiency and quality indicators.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental management systems; application of internal plant procedures; operational and safety IT systems; technical documentation control; and administrative management systems.
