Waterplan is a pioneering Series A Y Combinator-backed Climate Tech startup dedicated to accelerating the journey toward a water-secure future. Through our leading AI B2B Enterprise SaaS platform, we empower companies to understand, respond, report, and monitor their ever-evolving water risk. To help fulfill this mission, we are looking for a trusted Culture & HRBP Lead who will own and scale Waterplan's culture and HRBP (Human Resources Business Partner) initiatives. This person will be central in reminding everyone at Waterplan why this is a great place to work, every day. The role combines strategic HRBP leadership with hands-on cultural enablement, ensuring that teams are empowered, connected, and aligned with our mission.
Key ResponsibilitiesCulture & Workplace
Design and execute weekly and daily culture initiatives that foster collaboration, recognition, and team spirit.
Ensure Waterplan remains a place where people feel proud, motivated, and supported, while reaching their fullest professional potential.
Lead internal communications and engagement activities (e.g., brainstorming sessions, Workplace, rituals, events).
Maintain and strengthen Waterplan's identity through initiatives that make culture visible and actionable.
Structure, lead, and improve HRBP sessions with managers and teams.
Establish and drive prioritization criteria for HRBP support across people and teams.
Partner with managers to address people challenges around compensation, work-life blend, and career paths.
Provide enablement and guidance to managers so they can proactively address and resolve team challenges.
Ensure Waterplan's INPS (Internal Net Promoter Score) and collaborator experience goals are consistently achieved.
Build a strong foundation for a Culture & HRBP function at Waterplan, with potential to expand into a dedicated team over time.
Reporting directly to it, act as a trusted partner to the leadership team, ensuring culture and people practices align with business needs.
Collaborate with Finance/Operations/Legal to clarify responsibilities around compliance and payroll (though payroll is not a core requirement for this role).
People at Waterplan feel recognized and valued in their daily work while reaching their fullest professional potential.
HRBP sessions are structured, impactful, and trusted by managers.
Culture initiatives are consistent, engaging, and aligned with Waterplan's mission.
INPS scores are strong, reflecting a thriving workplace.
The role becomes a central enabler for managers and teams to solve challenges effectively.
Proven experience in HRBP, Culture, or People leadership roles.
Strong ability to design and execute culture-building initiatives.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to gain trust quickly.
Structured yet creative thinker, able to balance business constraints with people needs.
