Remitee, a rapidly growing international Fintech focused on cross-border payments, is looking for a Tax Specialist to join our Accounting team.
As a Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for managing tax obligations, supporting compliance processes, and collaborating closely with Accounting, Finance, and external advisors to ensure Remitee meets all tax requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and support tax filings and returns (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support tax calculations, provisions, and reconciliations in coordination with the Accounting team.
- Assist in tax audits, inspections, and requests from tax authorities.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and consultants when required.
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the business.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany tax matters (if applicable).
- Contribute to the improvement of tax processes, controls, and documentation.
What We're Looking For
Must have:
- Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proven experience in a tax role, preferably in a multi-country environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate taxes, VAT, and withholding taxes.
- Experience working with accounting systems and tax reporting processes.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
Nice to have:
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or regulated industries.
- Experience with tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions is a strong plus, particularly in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Spain, the United States, and Mexico.
- Familiarity with transfer pricing and international tax matters.
- Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Advanced Excel skills or experience with financial systems/ERPs.
- Professional certifications in tax or accounting (CPA, CTA, or similar).
