Title and Summary

Accountant

Overview:

- Responsible for financial accounting, financial reporting and operating activities
- Activities at the junior levels include settlement accounting; accounts receivable; fixed assets; and at the senior levels preparing budgets and financial reports; conducting financial analyses; and making recommendations to senior management
- The Controller should have oversight and controls in place around the accounting and business processes and assure the accuracy and timely completion of all accounting transactions

Role:

- Performs accounting activities (e.g., reconciliations, journal entries) in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements
- May assists with internal financial reporting, performs comprehensive trend analysis and data mining; assesses for completeness
- Executes and supports internal and external controls
- Makes suggestions for process improvements to supervisor
- Assists in supporting the business partner relationship, including performing any ad-hoc analysis and reporting

- Demonstrates knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting and delivers accurate and timely work
- Gains exposure to reviewing and analyzing own work for appropriate accounting treatment
- Experience performing process improvement activities
- Experience identifying and resolving basic issues in a timely manner
- Gains exposure to accounting control principles
- Experience building an internal network and relationships with business partners
- May produce and review internal and external reports (e.g., reports to Business Partners, Finance Leaders)
