**Head of Operations Argentina**
Job description
- Governing and leading the Argentina Ops team in the effective operation, delivery, and local execution of Global Ops strategy
- Ensuring the effective implementation of Operations Stewardship and Bank Wide Operations
- Providing a cost-efficient proposition for the country - ensuring HSBC Argentina only pays for services it has contracted for, driving up customer advocacy and realizing lower operating costs
- Ensuring effective execution of the global Target Operating Model for Business Services and the agreed transformation programs for Businesses and Functions, in line with entity demands, opportunities and constraints within country
The Argentina Head of Ops is the oversight and governance lead for all Ops Business Partners in Argentina and will ensure strong alignment with those business partners while maintaining the global Ops delivery model. They will liaise with Global Heads of Business Services, and Ops Transformation to ensure alignment with the Ops global delivery model, to ensure alignment with Argentina´s demands.
The role holder will represent Ops in meetings with the Argentina COO and lead all our Ops teams in engaging with all stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve competitive consistent/competitive customer outcomes, and substantial cost efficiencies.
In this role you can expect the key role responsibilities to be:
Customer service:
- Achieve core customer service standards in line with transformation plans and meet business as usual Service level agreements (SLAs)
- Drive business services’ customer journey transformation e.g., digitization to reduce physical paper, process simplification
Financials:
- Own Argentina Ops financials
- Drive execution of Ops change agenda to deliver Argentina cost base targets
Risk:
- Effectively manage material operational risk, financial crime risk, conduct outcomes, and global compliance standards - especially considering substantive growth and transformation plans
- Support HBAR COO to fulfil the Senior Manager accountability and shared responsibility for resolving material control issues
Innovation:
- Drive Control Automation agenda and deliver measurable improvement in automated vs. manually operated controls.
- Deliver innovation use cases (e.g. RPA, Cloud, AI) & material projects to deliver benefits.
Collaboration
- Develop strong senior business stakeholder relationships across all global business services (GBs)
- Support HBAR in achieving its strategic objectives
- Translate & share Ops strategy with the business to source their buy-in and commitment
People:
- Drive people engagement, talent development, & continued diversity at a time of substantial change
- Optimize teams & centers of excellence for service delivery
Requirements
**Requirements**:
Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in Argentina.
Knowledge of:
- HSBC Group structures, values, behaviors, processes and objectives.
- External environment - regulatory, political, competitors
- Ops/Business Services
- functionally, operationally, strategically, & financially
- Argentina market for managing complex processes & operations
- Regulations impacting financial service activities
- Fluent English and Spanish languages
Proven experience of:
- Positive, challenging interactions with Senior Executives
- Working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural work environments
- Successfully designing & implementing complex country change at scale
- Operational management at GB/GF or Entity level
- Successfully managing financial plans
- Successfully developing & retaining critical talent and building an effective leadership team
- Managing large scale operational activity and P&L
- Proven leadership skills in a changing environment.
- Managing and motivating large teams
- Working in the best interests of the customer
- Dealing with regulatory bodies at a senior level
- Internal control/audit or process re-engineering experience is preferred.
