Senior Accounts Payable Accountant

**Responsibilities**:
**Who are you?**

**In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following**:

- Supports the Accounts Payable supervisor
- Responsible for full cycle Account Payable from processing vendor invoices through Concur to communicating with departments to resolve invoice discrepancies, and communicating with vendors as needed
- Assisting with month end-close & year end procedures, including GL reconciliation and journal entries.
- Compile data for monthly accrued invoices
- Successfully meets deadlines, exceptions, and preform work duties as required
- Manages workflows to ensure timely processing and approvals of invoices and check requests
- Receives and processes a variety of accounts payable transactions, including simple and more complex transactions
- Examines and verifies contracts, Purchase Orders, Change Orders, and Invoice vouchers to ensure they adhere to applicable agreements, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures to support payment or other
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate, and code to appropriate cost center as well as matching purchase requests to invoices for the three way match
- Auditing employee expense reports to ensure they comply with the corporate travel policy, communicating with employees to resolve expense report discrepancies and compliance
- Submit weekly check runs, ensuring proper approval and submission to bank
- Vouch and reconcile utility and rent monthly payments
- Reconciliation of outstanding AP items utilizing the ERP system generated reports to reconcile accounts payable G/L accounts.
- Prepare journal entries as needed
- Maintaining new vendor set ups verifying Contract, W-9 and ACH validity
- Communicate timely with vendors and inter-departmental personnel
- This role will also involve leading and training accounts payable staff regarding data entry, codes, record keeping and transaction processing
- Must maintain a detailed understanding of the multiple books we run
- Prepares audit documentation for financial and compliance audits
- Maintain and manage benefit billing for the whole organization
- Adhoch projects as needed to help wherever possible

- Must have at least 2 years of experience in Accounts payable as well as two (2) years of college level course work in accounting and/or finance
