DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the infrastructure and processes that empower our development teams to deliver high-quality software quickly and reliably. You will work closely with developers and QA engineers to design, implement, and optimize our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud-based infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical background in DevOps practices, cloud technologies, and automation tools, as well as a passion for continuous improvement and problem-solving.

**Role & Responsibilities**

CI/CD Pipelines:

- Integrate automated testing and security checks into the pipelines to ensure the quality and security of our code.
- Optimize pipeline performance and efficiency, reducing build and deployment times.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure resources.
- Ensure consistency, reproducibility, and scalability of our infrastructure across different environments.
- Collaborate with developers to define and implement infrastructure requirements.

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

- Manage and monitor our cloud-based infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Optimize resource utilization and cost management.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Automation and Tooling:

- Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance our DevOps capabilities.
- Develop custom scripts and tools to streamline workflows and improve productivity.

Collaboration and Support:

- Work closely with development, QA, and SRE teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build, deployment, and infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on DevOps best practices and tools.
- Participate in incident response and post-incident review processes to improve system reliability and resilience.

**Minimum qualifications**

**Experience**:

- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud providers.
- Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

**Skills**:

- Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, Bash, or other relevant languages.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Proficiency in using version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of networking and security concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Bonus Points:

- Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
