**Director of Engineering - Enterprise**:
**Your main goal will be to scale and lead n8n’s enterprise and cloud-facing engineering teams. Driving faster delivery, higher quality, and stronger execution across our core enterprise features and**n8n.cloud** platform.**

To do so, you’ll own a key part of our engineering organization, supporting multiple teams and leaders responsible for the systems that power enterprise readiness, reliability, and growth.

**BUILD AND SCALE HIGH-PERFORMING TEAMS**:

- Lead and grow multiple engineering teams responsible for enterprise features like SSO, audit logging, observability, and the n8n cloud platform
- Manage, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and senior ICs. Building a manager-of-managers structure over time
- Design the organization, hire exceptional talent, and foster a high-performance, high-ownership culture

**DRIVE DELIVERY, QUALITY, AND RELIABILITY**:

- Improve engineering velocity, code quality, and operational excellence across teams
- Oversee incident response, reliability standards, and production readiness for n8n cloud
- Ensure technical and managerial excellence, implementing scalable systems and processes

**LEAD STRATEGY AND CROSS-FUNCTIONAL EXECUTION**:

- Collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, and GTM to deliver impactful enterprise features and internal systems
- Represent the Enterprise org within the broader engineering leadership team
- Drive adoption of best practices and outcome-oriented planning while aligning with company OKRs

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Must-haves**:

- ** You are kind, driven and**align with our operating principles**
- ** Engineering leadership at scale**: You have several years of experience leading multiple engineering teams and directly managing Engineering Managers in a high-growth, high-performing environment, ideally within a complex, product-led SaaS organization.
- ** Strong technical depth**: You can dive into architecture and operations discussions with senior ICs while staying focused on outcomes
- ** Delivery and quality mindset**: You’ve built systems and processes that measurably improve velocity, reliability, and technical standards
- ** Enterprise SaaS experience**: You’ve delivered and scaled enterprise-grade SaaS features such as SSO, RBAC, audit logging, and observability
- ** Operational excellence**: You understand incident response, on-call processes, and running SaaS platforms in production
- ** Coaching and communication**: You’re known for developing leaders, giving clear direction, and aligning teams toward shared goals
- ** Location**: Based in Berlin or within ±1 hour of Berlin time zone

**Nice-to-haves**:

- ** High-growth SaaS experience**: You’ve operated in a scaling B2B SaaS environment
- ** Developer tools & automation**: Familiarity with developer platforms, low-code/no-code, or workflow automation products
- ** Open source ethos**: Experience with fair-code or open-source business models
- ** Distributed leadership**: Comfortable leading teams across time zones
- ** Platform excellence**: Background in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE
