FM Global is a leading property insurer of the world's largest businesses, providing engineering-based risk management and property insurance solutions. Our team of experts helps clients maintain continuity in their business operations by drawing upon state-of-the-art loss-prevention engineering and research, risk management skills, and support services.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Consultant Engineer, you will identify property hazards at insured client facilities and deliver practical solutions to minimize or eliminate the hazard. You will communicate key risks and priorities to support clients in making sound risk management decisions based on what matters most to their business.
You will apply consistent risk assessment and risk mitigation guidance, based on the use of FM Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets and company operating procedures, with an attention to technical detail. You will prepare technical engineering reports, with sound engineering-based judgements, decisions, and technical writing to document conclusions.
You will collaborate with various departments such as Operations Engineering, Client Services, Account Management, and Underwriting on risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies. You will develop long-lasting relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor and consultant within your field.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a concentration in either electrical, mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years' work experience combined with Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Hands-on understanding of various manufacturing production processes and support systems.
- Previous field experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, proficiency in MS Office products is required.
- Analytical, organized, and good problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven and self-learning skills.
- A valid driver's license is required, a company car is provided.
- English skills (fluent spoken and written).
- A valid B1/B2 USA visa is required.
This is a field-based role and will require travel to large, complex industrial client sites to evaluate the operations and systems of the site and identify risks and hazards. Expected overnight travel is from 50 to 100 nights per year.
