Role Overview

As a Security Officer with JD, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our stores and colleagues. This includes contributing to a safe working environment, preventing loss and damage to company property, and supporting the Supervisor in achieving these objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment
  • Conduct regular site patrols to deter unauthorized access and prevent property misuse
  • Maintain awareness of health and safety guidelines and ensure adherence to company policies
  • Search staff and contractors in accordance with established procedures
  • Provide professional and courteous service at all times
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required by the business
  • Ensure accurate booking of staff, contractors, and visitors
  • Monitor and record equipment usage and vehicle movements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in health and safety practices
  • Basic computer literacy skills for data entry and record-keeping
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Quick thinking and problem-solving in response to security incidents
  • Desirable: prior security industry experience and knowledge of common law powers
