Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per yearAbout the RoleJob Description:We are seeking an experienced Escrow Financial Operations Specialist to join our accounting team based in New York. The ideal candidate will be part of the Controllership team and report directly to the Senior Escrow Analyst, coordinating with various teams across the organization.
The primary focus of this position will be to manage the day-to-day aspects of escrow accounts, including incoming and outgoing funds, investigating account discrepancies, and handling customer service-related matters. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with the accounting team regarding fund transfers and preparing ad-hoc reports. This role also involves partnering with the accounting team to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures and driving continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain daily reconciliation of funds received in escrow for closed real estate transactions
- Collaborate with the accounting team on account reconciliations and monthly analytics
- Create and distribute accurate internal reports
- Assist in maintaining a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over escrow activities
- Drive process improvement and re-engineer escrow procedures toward a standard solution across markets
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Knowledge of real estate is a plus
- Experience working across multiple teams
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
This role requires strong interpersonal skills for interacting with cross-functional teams, agents, clients, and third-party providers. Strong analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are also essential. Additionally, you should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, and handle several deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication and dispute resolution skills are necessary to handle issue escalation and resolution effectively.
