Job Title: Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert

Main Responsibilities:

The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will serve as a scientific expert between Bayer and the medical community by disseminating and educating scientific data and material in oncology. They will establish long-term scientific/strategic relationships with key, influential physicians/scientists and with related major medical associations and academic centers of excellence. These relationships will ensure that thought leaders and organizations have access to relevant scientific information and that pertinent information is shared with the medical community. The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will use their experience and knowledge to interact with key external medical and pharmacy professionals via one-on-one interaction, small group discussion, symposia lecture presentations, and interactions associated with sponsored medical education programs and research protocols. They will facilitate TL involvement in national, regional, and local educational forums, including advisory boards, symposia, and Continuing Medical Education (CMEs).

The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will also serve as an important partner to internal stakeholders within Bayer by communicating relevant information from Thought Leaders (TLs) to key cross-functional partners.

Key Activities:

  1. Scientific Information Dissemination: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will plan, partner, and engage with LTs as a subject matter expert and colleague, both proactively and reactively through various innovative tactics and formats to provide dissemination, clarification, and education of scientific data, study protocols, meeting summaries, and literatures.
  2. TL Identification/Profiling/Segmentation and Strategy: In alignment with the medical strategy as stipulated in the integrated brand plan.
  3. Congresses and Conventions: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will use congresses and conventions to establish contacts with TLs, establish new contacts, and gather competitive intelligence/insights.
  4. Synthetic Educational Activities: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will plan and organize scientific training, education events/sessions with TLs within their specific therapeutic area.
  5. Reports and Follow-up Activities: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will present timely reports of field interactions and events, as well as tracks activities in relation to the agreed PMP objectives and the country's medical activity plan (SALESFORCE/MIND/Excel/Post-congress minutes).
  6. Gathering Investigator-Initiated Research Ideas (IIR) and Facilitating IIR Setup: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will act as a point of contact for researchers, facilitating the interface with researchers and appropriate BHC personnel responsible for approval, and communication of study progress and completion.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. Market Access: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will provide assistance to medical advisors and market access and supports the submission of new information to hospital forms and reimbursement decision makers as needed.
  2. Internal Scientific Support: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will serve as an in-house scientific expert by selectively supporting training activities, in addition to responding to scientific/medical inquiries from Sales Representatives (along with/as a support element to Medical Advisors).
  3. Clinical Research Support (R&D): The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will provide additional support (as needed) to support local clinical operations staff/medical advisors regarding strategic viability in company-sponsored clinical development studies, as well as facilitating intervention studies and observation of medical matters.
  4. External Scientific Support, Training, and Education: The Global Oncology Therapeutic Expert will provide additional external scientific support, training, and education not covered by other primary activities.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who possesses a strong background in medicine and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as an MSL preferred or experience in drug information, clinical research and development, or other clinical relevant activities. They should possess basic knowledge of therapeutic area products and have participated in a project from inception to conclusion. Additionally, they should have a good understanding of clinical trial design and rationale and be able to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate should also have excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills, be able to build productive work relationships both internally and externally, and have a demonstrated self-starter ability. Finally, they should strive to impact individuals and organizations, exhibit interpersonal awareness, and demonstrate business acumen.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
