Job Summary:

The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a highly skilled Global Tobacco Control Specialist to join its team. This role will play a critical part in implementing the WHO's tobacco control efforts, focusing on policy development, technical assistance, and capacity building for countries in the Region of the Americas.

About the Role:

  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of grant objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables related to smoke-free Latin America, collaborating with regional advisors, country offices staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance to country offices staff on smoke-free policies, including rationale, evidence, implementation status, and best practices.
  • Develop and tailor technical resources, such as presentations, reports, and factsheets, on smoke-free policies, aligned with the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and its guidelines.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute capacity-building activities, including workshops, events, and in-country missions, ensuring consistency with grant deliverables and PAHO rules.
  • Collaborate with the RF team to operationalize the Strategy and Plan of Action to Strengthen Tobacco Control in the Region of the Americas 2025-2030 and the PAHO Strategic Plan 2020-2025 and Biennial Work Plans.

About You:
