About the Role
- Develop and implement the medical practice delivery model in accordance with SOW and DHS directives
- Provide clinical direction and oversight to medical staff
- Collaborate with OCMO and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality healthcare services
- Conduct disease surveillance activities and public health and epidemiology studies/efforts as needed
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- Current, active, valid, and unencumbered license to practice medicine issued by any United States jurisdiction
- Board-certified/board-eligible in a medical specialty
- 10 years' experience as attending or independently practicing physician in a direct patient care setting
- Experience in detention/correctional healthcare, humanitarian care, ambulatory care, or pediatric settings encouraged but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of current standards of practice in clinical medicine
- Ability to serve proficiently as a clinical expert providing technical assistance and consultation to clinic medical staff
- Mastery of managerial and administrative practices including routine management of ambulatory clinic functioning and responsibilities
Work Environment
- Able to walk, stand, bend, or sit for extended periods
- Able to reach to retrieve documents or supplies
- Must be capable of standing on hard surfaces (cement floors) for long periods of time
- Must perform duties in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitation
- Must be able to respond to a medical emergency and perform BLS/CPR as needed
