Key Responsibilities

Engage with a collaborative team to develop and maintain Ignition SCADA systems, focusing on the creation and implementation of integrated corporate-driven standard solutions. Partner with engineers, geoscientists, data managers, and fellow software developers to identify, construct, and deliver solutions to complex upstream unconventional business challenges. Design, implement, and provide support for on-site Ignition HMI applications, as well as business-oriented SCADA applications that seamlessly integrate with our MQTT infrastructure. Collaborate with field teams to design and incorporate well site data, saltwater disposal information, compressor site data, and other field automation into Ignition SCADA systems for alarm management, data historization, and visualization. Interface with various customer and support elements, including automation, measurement, engineering, production, operations, and plant support, as well as other IT support personnel when necessary. Assist field team members in troubleshooting communication issues, application challenges, and integrations with Ignition and its associated data.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electronic/Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. At least 5 years of experience in developing, deploying, and supporting SCADA and HMI systems. Solid understanding of automation control systems, control protocols, and networking principles. Expertise in Python and API development (including Ignition APIs, Mulesoft, or similar technologies). Experience with RTUs (ROC, TotalFlow), PLCs, and related HMI hardware and software (such as Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE). IT proficiency in Microsoft server operating systems and applications, including MS SQL Server.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Previous experience in the upstream oil and gas sector. Familiarity with large-scale data management systems (such as Ignition or WonderWare). Knowledge of Edge Computing and Azure cloud technologies is essential. Working knowledge of the Ignition platform. Understanding of field radio and network communications is advantageous. Familiarity with field data capture and production accounting systems. Experience with MQTT protocols and applications. Background in Agile software development methodologies.
