Responsible for partnering with the Operations team of an operating region enabling strong business performance by managing the preparation and presentation of timely and accurate financial statements. The role must operate with the highest level of integrity and exemplify Company policy and the Company’s internal controls framework. Responsibilities include domestic and international accounting oversight; annual budget and monthly forecast preparation / review and adhering to US GAAP and IFRS. Assist with and coordinate start-up operations in new markets and closure of exit locations. Assist the region’s Operations Manager with the preparation of the Operating and Capital Budget, prepare and report on the quarterly Outlook. Consult with Treasury for effective foreign currency exposure management.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Prepare management reports and present monthly financial results to Corporate and Operational senior management. Direct and control the accounting activities, including recording company transactions, classifications, and reconciliation of account balances in accordance with GAAP and company policy.-
- Preparation and on-going performance analysis of the region’s operating and capital budget, as well as monthly 18-month forecast.-
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and adherence with company policy; implement new accounting policies and changes based on the recommendation and research provided by the Corporate External Reporting and Accounting Research group.-
- Oversee and direct the accounting team assigned to the region, including international locations; direct resolution of accounting questions, make appropriate informed judgments, and control the accounts for their areas of responsibility.-
- Partner with the other Region Finance Managers to ensure consistency, communication of lessons learned and implementation of best practices across all regions.-
- Partner with the Rig Support Team (RST), including Commercial, HR, HSE, Supply Chain and Technical Support. This will include the day-to-day operations of the rig and strategic decision making.-
- Partner with Tax team to understand transfer pricing impacts on actuals.-
- Assist the region’s Operations Manager with the preparation of the Operating and Capital Budget.-
- Review and approve AFE’s in SharePoint, ensuring in line with approved budgets, correct project categorization, correct work scopes and supported by relevant quotes.-
- Ensure international accounting functions are efficient while being compliant with documented SOX controls.-
- Accountable, while partnering with Lead Accountants, for ensuring timely and accurate statutory filing requirements are met in various countries within the region where Noble has operations and/or financial holdings. This includes coordination of audit firms.-
- Maintain a high standard of effective and timely communication with responsible division accounting staffs, including the Operations Controller, Regional Finance Manager counterpart(s), Head of Business Controllers, Business Controllers, Corporate Accounting management, Tax team, and Operations management.-
- Mentor, coach, and develop employees through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of policies and rules, employ constructive discipline; build morale and motivates employees. Responsible for the formal performance reviews of subordinates in functional area.-
- Other duties and projects as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting; CPA or CA preferred.-
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in an operational accounting leadership role for a multinational company, preferably oil field services.-
- Previous experience working directly with senior management.-
- Proficient in Accounting including US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC guidelines. Experience in SOX environment is a plus.-
- Accounting for international locations and foreign currency transactions, including previous experience with local reporting requirements (including WHT, VAT and statutory filings), as well as experience defining and implementing processes to fulfil local requirements as the company establishes operations in new countries.-
- Generate results in a full range of assignments with mínimal consultation and review of work product.-
- Experience in contract administration.-
- Strong leadership skills and an ability to direct the activities of others and develop their skills and knowledge.-
- Ability to interface and coordinate with multiple groups, individuals, and disciplines internally and externally.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.-
- Travel is an essential job function (est. 10%, both domestic and international).SUPERVISORY- Operations Accounting team assigned to the Region.
