OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

As the only specialized semi-autonomous organization with the mandate to support educational policy, planning and management, the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) plays a unique role within the United Nations system. IIEP was established in 1963 as an integral part of UNESCO. It supports ministries of education around the world and other key actors to plan and manage education systems through its programmes of training, technical assistance, policy research and knowledge sharing. The Institute launched its new Medium-Term Strategy (2022-2024) in December 2021, drawing on core and project funding to achieve its goals and objectives.

This position is located in IIEP’s Buenos Aires Office. Under the general supervision of the Coordination of the Knowledge Management and Mobilization Area (KMM) of IIEP UNESCO Buenos Aires, and under the immediate supervision of the Program Specialist in Communities of Practice, the incumbent will serve as technical assistant in the activities of the Community of Practice, called the Network of Specialists in Educational Policy in Latin America (RED), a virtual meeting space for professionals involved in the design, implementation, and analysis of educational policies in Latin America. she/he is expected to provide an analytic, strategic, and operational vision for the growth and development of the RED project in particular and to provide assistance for the growth and strengthening of the Knowledge Management and Mobilization Area (KMM) in general.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Within this framework, the Technical Associate will perform the following tasks:
Network of Education Policy Specialists in Latin America (RED)

**Global Strategy**:
Collaborate in the design and management of the strategy and annual schedule of the RED and its articulation with other areas of IIEP UNESCO, Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Organize the work agenda and meetings of the RED, especially with the moderators, focal points and specialists participating in the events.

Organize and manage project communications together with the Communications area.

Proactively manage events and linkages with strategic alliances for the RED and other KMM Area projects.

Participate in the development of tailor-made proposals (narrative and financial) within the framework of the RED: communities of practice and knowledge networks.

Collaborate in the design of innovation proposals within the framework of the RED.

**User tracking**:
Generate access credentials, edit profiles and help desk for members of the community of practice with the support of the TIC area

Collaborate in the strategy of dissemination - together with the Communications area - and disclosure of the actions of the RED to increase the membership rate, in particular collaborate with the actions developed with the focal points.

**Production of online events (synchronous and asynchronous)**:
Manage the agenda of events.

Lead pre-production, realization and post-production.

Elaborate concept notes and press releases with the support of the Communications area.

Perform the registration process, help desk and certification management.

**Development of thematic content packages**:
Review and select publications and multimedia material produced by UNESCO and related agencies.

Articulate with the areas of IIEP UNESCO for the survey of contents of interest.

Contribute to the elaboration of content packages.

Produce enriched content posts.

Elaborate the monthly newsletter of the RED with attractive contents.

**Designing proposals for activities**:
Design spaces for the exchange and dynamics of virtual networks.

Generate innovative activities and activity slogans for the audience of the RED.

Collaborate in the design and management of the activities carried out by the RED moderators.

**Assembly and uploading of content**:
Manage the platform and publish materials, news, documents on the RED platform.

Manage and catalog the multimedia material published and shared in the Community of Practice.

Update and catalog documents for the content search engine.

**Analysis and elaboration of databases**:
**Analyze databases through different tools**: google analytics, drupal, surveys and propose strategies for improvement and impact.

Elaborate surveys for information gathering.

Elaborate presentations and activity reports.
