About you and this role - What you would do in this role

Dow has a great opportunity as Senior Logistics Specialist that provides leadership and expertise in International Logistics and Trade Operations. Works in a team focused on Imports and Exports to/from all parts of the World. Covers all modes of Transportation and is directly linked to Supply Chain and Site Logistics. Works with key partners to optimize operations on a regular basis. Provides specific modal expertise (Bulk Marine, Road, Rail, Warehousing, Terminals). Tracks metrics, and project/work process support within their area of expertise. Requires broadened conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations and receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Provides informal guidance to new team members. Analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents to solve problems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Utilizes logistics knowledge, technical expertise and operations experience to assist in correcting process or equipment issues which improve process performance and reliability.
- Works with technical advising and logistics operations personnel to create methods to optimize operations.
- Participates in advanced troubleshooting and coaches others to learn these skills. Implements best practices.
- Interacts with other Dow (global) regions to resolve order issues for inter-area shipments.
- Ensures Most Effective Technology and specific operating discipline requirements are in place.
- Interfaces with third party logistics providers and ensures contractual obligations are met with no penalties or fines incurred.
- Initiates changes to operating procedures to ensure that they are valid and up-to-date.
- Communicates technical information and issues to operations and/or technology.
- Supports and assists with QN investigations and identification of corrective and preventative measures.
- Administers trade lane contracts where needed to maximize benefits to Dow. (Facilitate vessel/cargo nominations, mitigate dead freight, mitigate demurrage, approve invoices, manage carriers and logistics LSP)
- Responds to and resolves customer or internal product quality or service incidents.
- Supports procurement tender negotiation and implementation with operational expertise.

Qualification
- Required education: University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences
- Required experience: 3-6 years of experience in a Supply Chain and/or international logistics environment.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Fluency in Portuguese will be a differential.
- The critical competencies required for success are: technical expertise on the field, supply chain management skills, work process knowledge, interpersonal effectiveness, team work, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, analytical skills, communication to influence internal and external audiences.
