A Day in the Life
- POSITION DESCRIPTION
The role of Innovation and new solutions is to lead and support the development and implementation of strategic definitions of innovation and new business models. This role drives and shapes the innovation efforts with the Medtronic Business Operating Units and Functions to favor Medtronic’s market share, positioning, and commercial objectives in Southern Latam countries. The incumbent will be responsible for innovation framework definition, training, and education about concepts and methodologies and will lead internal and external innovative initiatives, defining and following KPIs and ROI. An exceptional ability to understand and engage with the innovation ecosystem and key healthcare decision-makers is required. A deep understanding of Innovation models and methodologies and their evaluations are essential, supported by a relentless focus on understanding the market barriers and a strong emphasis on pragmatic approach and flawless execution. Analytical skills will be crucial in understanding and overcoming these barriers. Precision and attention to detail are paramount in this role, underscoring the need for meticulousness and accuracy.

- Identify, evaluate, and lead the implementation of advanced and disruptive medical technologies to improve value proposition,-
- Define timelines, dashboards, budgets, and project management tools for projects and initiatives and keep teams engaged and progressing according to plan-
- Guides the company on the best practices and methodologies to develop innovative solutions to internal and external challenges and improve business performance-
- Map, monitor, and update progress on the innovation’s trends and regulatory issues of interest to the company and provide analysis and strategic management to the executive board of the Company-
- Build strong relationships with the innovation ecosystem, regulators, and clients to position MDT as a strategic partner and leverage business opportunities.-
- Ensure that solution design and implementations are aligned with business legal-compliance principles throughout the process.-
- Deploys innovation strategy and builds and maintains relationships with strategic partners, startups, tech companies, customers, innovation centers, academic institutions, and all the relevant actors in the innovation ecosystem.-
- As needed, assist operating units in study design, matrix approval, finance support navigation, and results evaluation to accelerate innovative projects.-
- Map, design, implement, and update strategic plans with key stakeholders to advance Medtronic’s business objectives and ensure long-term viability and sustainability.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION REQUIRED- Undergraduate degree from an accredited college in the relevant area required; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience in marketing, administration, digital health, master of innovation, entrepreneur, etc.-
- English: Advanced levelYEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED- Self-starter with at least 5 years of experience leading innovation departments/projects, data science, digital health areas, business development, and technology roles. Experience in the healthcare sector is desirable but not mandatory. Experience in corporate roles is highly desirable.-
- Track record of successfully implementing innovation projects or leading innovation departments or teams.- KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED- Collaboration - internal and external, team management skills, and concise written and verbal communication.-

- Applications & Programs: Project management software (Asana, etc.), collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams), data analysis & machine learning tools (Power BI, Tableau, Phyton, etc.)- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Prefer solid understanding of healthcare policy and environment.-
