Tasks


Our Sea and Air Freight Network Planning International team is responsible for the design, planning and implementation of global air and sea transportation services for the supply of production and spare parts for Mercedes-Benz Cars, Vans and Global Service & Parts.

We are also responsible for network management in series production.

The following exciting and varied tasks await you:

  • Support in the strategic analysis and optimization of international supply chains and the planning and tendering of logistics services
  • Independent processing of planning inquiries and unplanned tenders
  • Creation and provision of regular reports such as sales statistics, fuel developments and performance reports from service providers
  • Global communication with internal service recipients on the shipping and receiving side (e.g. plants, Global Logistic Center), the freight purchasing department and other internal stakeholders
  • Communication and coordination with external (transport) service providers in the industry
  • Preparation and participation in internal meetings, workshops and discussions with service providers
  • Support in the preparation of documents for management decisions
  • Supporting the development of tools for strategic network planning
  • Independent maintenance and further development of our Mercedes-Benz social intranet group
  • Weekly creation of our logistics newsletter and publication on the Mercedes-Benz Social Intranet

Qualifications

  • Degree in business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable course of study, ideally with a focus on transport economics or supply chain management
  • Proficient in written and spoken German and English
  • Confident handling of MS Office
  • Experience with content creation and interest in social media marketing desirable
  • Commitment and ability to work in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analytical way of thinking
  • High level of commitment
  • Intercultural competence
