Accounting Associate Contractor Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Location: Remote (PST/EST working hours preferred) Role Overview We're seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Contractor to support our rapidly scaling FinTech operations. In this role, you'll handle essential day‑to‑day accounting functions while supporting our finance team with reconciliations and month‑end close activities. You'll work directly with our CFO, gaining valuable exposure to the innovative intersection of traditional finance and blockchain technology. Key Responsibilities Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, vendor management, and payment coordination Perform accurate and timely data entry for financial transactions across multiple systems Support account reconciliations for bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions Prepare journal entries under guidance, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments Assist with month‑end and quarter‑end close activities by preparing schedules and reports Maintain organized documentation and records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies Support audit preparation by gathering supporting documentation and responding to information requests Help identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting discrepancies and inquiries Qualifications 3–5 years of accounting experience with exposure to accounts payable, data entry, and reconciliations Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles Proficiency with accounting systems and financial software Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment Availability to work during PST/EST business hours 6‑month contract with option to extend Nice to Have Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar cloud‑based ERP systems Background in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or FinTech industries Exposure to multi‑currency accounting Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in financial services Experience supporting external audits or audit preparation This is a fully remote position.
