Aviation Security Officer

Our client is seeking a vigilant and dependable Aviation Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of airport operations in Sandton . This role is critical in protecting passengers, staff, and assets from threats, implementing stringent security protocols, and responding effectively to security incidents. You will be part of a dedicated security team working within a highly regulated environment, upholding the highest standards of safety and security in aviation. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct passenger and baggage screening using X-ray machines and other security equipment.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and patrol airport premises to detect and deter security breaches.
• Respond promptly and effectively to security alarms and incidents, following established procedures.
• Enforce access control policies and procedures for restricted areas.
• Inspect cargo and mail for security compliance.

Requirements

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is advantageous.
• Must possess a valid Aviation Security training certificate or be willing to obtain one.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
